Bouygues Energies & Services currently has an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Shift Craftsperson to join our Facilities Management team at the Royal Hospital for Children & Young People based in Little France, Edinburgh. This is a full-time permanent position working an average of 42 hours per week, 4 on 4 off, 12 hour shifts between 9am and 9pm.

Key Activities:

  • Reporting to the M&E Supervisor
  • To apply relevant trade skills to undertake scheduled, planned and reactive maintenance tasks proactively or as directed. This will include pumps, pipework, valves, leaks, blockages etc. and from time to time will include installation and project type works.
  • To immediately report and/or make safe, to the appropriate place or person, any potentially dangerous or hazardous situations
  • To manage workload using PDA handheld device and be familiar with Maximo or similar asset management software system
  • To advise on parts/labour for additional works interfacing with suppliers as required and to recommend and maintain an adequate stock level to ensure service delivery
  • Working an average of 42 hours per week, 4 on 4 off, 12 hour shifts between 09:00 and 21:00
Skills & Qualifications:
  • Must hold a recognised mechanical trade apprenticeship and/or relevant qualifications to level 2 (theory and practice) in a relevant mechanical discipline with suitable industry experience; electrical experience is desirable
  • Good working knowledge of the maintenance requirements of building services assets
  • Understanding of Permit to Work and Safe Systems of Work
  • Successful applicants will be subject to a DBS Check
  • Knowledge of SHTMs/ HTMs is desirable
  • Experience in a Healthcare or critical environment is preferred
  • Team Player with good organisational and problem-solving skills with a solution-focussed attitude
  • Desirable to hold a full driving licence
