KME Steelworks Ltd, is offering an exceptional opportunity for an experienced Fabrication Manager to shape the future of the company and drive its growth. We are seeking a self-starting experienced Fabrication Manager to oversee our fabrication department.

The Fabrication Manager will be responsible for overseeing the production of quality fabricated steel throughout the business. You will support the coordination of the teams within the fabrication lines, working safely & timely to deliver quality products, as detailed in the Client Specifications, on target & to budget.

Other responsibilities will include but are not limited to:



Monitor and manage manufacturing variances daily, weekly and monthly. Focus on labor management, Bom accuracy and cost out projects. Collaborate with engineering and design team to interpret technical drawings and specifications. Ensure all welding and fabrication tasks are performed accurately and efficiently. Maintaining welding qualification records Ensure compliance with the requirements of ISO accreditation's and all other certifications currently in place, including CE marking. Ensuring all welding procedure qualifications records are in place before commencing jobs. Where applicable run trial tests and organise relevant third-party tests. Develop SOP's and risk assessments. Support quality control checks on fabricated components to ensure adherence to specifications, investigate issues and put corrective measures in place Assist production control team in fabrication times for quoting Constantly monitor the line performance by verifying equipment, checks, & quality. Ensure the team have the resources to run the line and remove all potential roadblocks that may prevent them from doing their job. Recruit & develop the team to ensure any future ISO accreditation's/certifications are achieved. Train, coach and motivate team members on best practices in welding techniques, including MIG welding to maximise production performance focusing on quality, scrap, utilisation and labor management. Maintain a safe working environment, encouraging a Speak Up culture by enforcing safety regulations and conducting regular safety audits. Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce waste. Develop our process to be capable of consistently delivering high volume production on time in full to the right quality standard. Drive lean manufacturing initiatives to improve operational efficiency, reduce waste, and meet productivity goals. Continually work on cost reduction and process improvement projects & report accurately online performance against agreed KPI's.

The successful candidate will have



Essential

Proven experience in a fabrication managerial role. Strong knowledge of welding techniques, including stick welding and sheet metal fabrication. Excellent mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot issues as they arise. Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team effectively. Attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines while maintaining safety standards.
Desirable

RWC qualification Experienced in achieving & maintaining EN1090 (CE), ISO9001(2015) & ISO3834 certifications
