Fabricator Welder - Job Summary
In this role you will be assembling various laser-cut steel and aluminium components, cutting from raw bar, box and angle, and plasma cutting from sheet materials. You will be following drawings produced by our engineering department and will be expected to feed back discrepancies to them, should they occur. You work will be managed and quality inspected by the fabrication workshop foreman. The competent use and setup, and understanding, of welding jigs and tables would be highly beneficial. Occasionally you will need to use the press break to bend materials to the job. It is expected that you will maintain a clean environment in the area you have been working. Occasionally you will also be required to drill and tap holes into fabrications, to help the fitting department before fabrications and painted.

Basic Duties & Expectations
Welding of Structural Mild steel and positional essentials (Stainless steel, and Aluminium experience preferred)
Welding by MIG and TIG.
Working in a manufacturing environment, which includes steel preparation i.e., Cutting, punching, bending, drilling, and tapping.
o Cutting may be either by band saw or guillotine.
o Punching holes and slots using a metal worker machine tool.
Using pedestal drilling machines to drill and tap holes.
Using press brake to bend/fold steel. (tuition will be given).
Using hand tools and measuring equipment to mark out jobs prior to cutting, drilling etc.
You would be expected to be proficient in the use of measuring equipment i.e., steel rule, tape measure, vernier calliper and micrometre etc.
Further duties (not conclusive) that may be required by management
The use of overhead cranes and slings.
The use of Forklift trucks. Licence not required (but training may be given, and licence obtained).
You would be expected to bring with you the basic tools of the trade, i.e., spanners and hand tools.
