Role Overview



The Factory / Production Manager will lead the manufacturing function at GLRE Rooflights, ensuring high-quality fabrication of bespoke rooflight and glazing systems. This hands-on role requires proven expertise in aluminium welding and fabrication, alongside strong organisational skills to manage workflow, quality, and health & safety within the production facility.

The post-holder will work closely with the Commercial team and Installation teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, to specification, and to the highest standards of workmanship.

Key Responsibilities



Oversee and manage all workshop operations, including planning, scheduling, and supervising production activities. Fabricate, assemble, and finish rooflight and glazing systems to specification. Carry out high-quality aluminium welding and fabrication to required industry standards. Maintain quality control throughout the production process, ensuring all products meet technical drawings and specifications. Lead, train, and develop factory staff, including apprentices and trainees. Monitor stock levels, liaise with suppliers, and ensure materials are available for production. Uphold strict compliance with Health & Safety standards, ensuring a safe and efficient working environment. Coordinate with Contract Management and Installation teams to meet project deadlines. Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and optimise workshop processes.

Skills & Experience Required



Proven experience in aluminium welding and fabrication (essential). Background in roof glazing, fenestration, or construction product manufacturing (preferred).Strong technical ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications. Strong technical ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications. Supervisory or leadership experience in a workshop/factory setting. Excellent organisational and time-management skills. High attention to detail and commitment to quality. Knowledge of Health & Safety regulations and safe workshop practices. Ability to train and mentor less experienced operatives.

Package



Salary: 35,000 to 50,000 Depending on Experience Hours: 7.30am to 4.30pm Benefits: Includes company van and company pension scheme
