Job description

• Supervise and coordinate in-house or subcontractor gangs on short-duration works.
• Ensure all site activities are delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
• Undertake regular site visits to monitor progress, measure works, and provide support.
• Organise daily workloads and ensure resource availability across multiple sites.
• Monitor and enforce health and safety compliance at all times.
• Report daily progress, site issues, and updates to senior management.
• Undertake winter maintenance duties (e.g., gritting/snow clearance) as required.
• Accurately measure works for progress reports, valuations, and invoicing.
• Liaise with clients, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure expectations are met.

Working Hours:

• Minimum 9-hour working days.
• Overtime available during peak winter (e.g., gritting shifts) and summer periods.
• Occasional out-of-hours work as required.

Skills & Experience:

• Experience in a supervisory role within highways, civil engineering, utilities, or a similar sector.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple gangs and subcontractors.
• Good understanding of health & safety and safe systems of work.
• Competence in reading drawings, setting out, and measuring works.
• Full UK Driving Licence - essential.
• CSCS card - required.
• SSSTS or SMSTS - preferred.
• Winter maintenance experience - desirable.
