Job Summary

James Glancy Design is looking to supplement their team with a workshop supervisor.

We are looking for a passionate maker, who enjoys realising bespoke designs and working as part of a team. Most of our construction consists of the fabrication of steel or aluminium frames so our preferred candidate will be an experienced fabricator or a maker willing to develop their metalworking skills.

Our year is varied, so we require someone that is flexible and adaptable. We bring in subcontracted fabricators and carpenters for our build season that the role will supervise. The role is supported to establish teams and best practices for facilitating a safe and productive working environment.

Key responsibilities:

Fabricate steel or aluminium frames/decorations Carpentry or working with other 'scenic' materials Subcontractor coordination Uphold manufacturing and workplace standards Quality control Oversee a safe working environment Implementation of H&S control measures Maintain stock levels of PPE Requesting and management of consumables Upkeep of machinery

Essential experience:

Ability to work from technical drawings Mig/Tig welding - Steel and aluminium Set building or bespoke making environment Proper use and upkeep of workshop tools and equipment Production fabrication Carpentry
