Job Description
Capital Tuition Group - Birmingham South (DfE Approved Tuition Partner) is building a bank of dedicated face-to-face tutors to support vulnerable and disengaged learners across the UK.
We work with schools, local authorities, and care providers to deliver one-to-one and small group tuition for children and young people who:
May be in care homes or alternative provision
Have gaps in their education or low attainment levels
Need patient, consistent support to re-engage with learning
We are currently hiring tutors to deliver face-to-face support in Derby.
Role Details:
Subjects: Maths, English, Science majority however wider subjects may be needed. (primary, KS3, KS4 level) Contract Example: 15 hours per week (e.g. 3 hours Mon, Thurs, Fri + paid prep time) Learner Needs: Low attainment, long-term disengagement, SEN/SEMH backgrounds Delivery: Face-to-face in schools, care settings, or neutral learning spaces Reporting: Weekly progress notes and safeguarding awareness required
Requirements:
Minimum: A degree in any subject Desirable: PGCE, QTS, or previous tutoring/teaching experience Strong communication skills and patience with vulnerable learners Ability to travel to placements (mileage often covered or factored into rates) Must have a valid DBS check (we can support with processing if needed)
