Job Description

The Wasdell Group provides the pharmaceutical and nutraceutical industries with solutions to a range of outsourcing requirements. Established in 1971, with multiple sites in the UK and employing over 500 people, the Group offers an impressive range of technical, manufacturing, packaging and storage/distribution services. We are currently looking for a Maintenance Technician at our Newcastle site whose role will be to support, maintain, operate, and repair equipment.

The role is to undertake a wide range of planned and reactive maintenance work, as well as small install projects and repairs as required. Working knowledge of 17th / 18th edition with inspection and testing being advantageous

Salary: 31,800 per annum

Key Responsibilities:

Support the site with maintenance and engineering support Assist in management of external contractors and consultants including supervision of work undertaken Maintain accurate up to date maintenance plans and reports in relation to all systems and equipment Advise and contribute to site services Conduct studies & develop project work scopes as required meeting business needs Leading and implementing new projects Assisting with building and equipment development, and identifying creative solutions Liaise with technical production, production quality and other internal customers to plan and execute maintenance requirements Ensuring storage and use of tooling and equipment is orderly Completion of building maintenance Submission of daily and weekly paperwork accurately and on time PPM's, Reactive repairs and maintenance to building services Install new electrical installations to the current UK standards Support the production team with electrical failure, including drive motors, sensors, general wiring, etc. Be able to problem solve and devise safe and cost-effective solutions.

Good communication skills, both written and verbal Must be able to work within stringent regulatory guidelines Able to work to deadlines effectively Able to make quality decisions in pressured environments Highly organised and detail oriented Can problem solve effectively Logical and methodical in approach to workload

Key Requirements:

Previous experience in pharmaceutical / food manufacturing environment Strong understanding of GMP and associated control requirements Proven experience in a project driven environment, manufacturing and possibly logistics Computer literate with good working knowledge of Microsoft applications. Trade qualified or equivalent within an engineering discipline

Qualifications

Time served, trade related NVQ 3/ HNC

Level 3 Diploma in Engineering

Health and Safety Training (General, L8, IPAF, PAT, Working at Height) desirable.
