Job Title: Facilities Cleaner and Porter Location: Newport, Facilities Pay Rate: 12.21 per hour Contract Type: Ongoing temporary work Shifts: Various shifts available across weekdays and weekends mornings and evenings
Royal Gwent Hospital - Facilities are looking for reliable, hard-working individuals to join their team as Facilities Cleaners and Porters. This is an essential role supporting the smooth running of the hospital and ensuring a safe, clean environment for patients, staff and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
- General cleaning duties across wards, corridors, public areas and clinical spaces
- Safe movement of equipment, supplies and furniture around the hospital
- Supporting clinical teams with non-patient-facing tasks
- Maintaining hygiene standards in line with NHS guidelines
- Responding to ad-hoc requests from the facilities team
- Working as part of a wider support team to keep the site running smoothly
- Previous cleaning or facilities experience is helpful but not essential
- Good communication skills and a positive, proactive attitude
- Ability to work on your feet and handle manual tasks
- Reliability and strong timekeeping
- Comfort working in a hospital environment
