Job Description

Purpose of the Role

To ensure the

safe, efficient, and well-organised day-to-day running of the building and non-clinical operations

, supporting staff and clients by maintaining a clean, safe, compliant, and well-functioning environment.

The role

does not provide clinical or therapeutic care

, but plays a critical part in enabling high-quality care delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Facilities & Building Management



Oversee the general condition, cleanliness, and functionality of the building Coordinate and supervise contractors (maintenance, plumbing, electrics, fire systems, legionella, pest control, etc.) Log, track, and follow up repairs and maintenance issues Manage cleaning schedules and standards (internal and external)

Health, Safety & Fire Safety



Support completion of health & safety checks, audits, and action plans Monitor fire safety systems (fire alarms, emergency lighting, fire doors, evacuation routes) Ensure fire risk assessments and servicing schedules are up to date Assist with accident/incident reporting and remedial actions Support environmental risk assessments (slips, trips, ligature, infection control)
(Note: responsibility is operational support - accountability remains with management)

Compliance & Administration



Upload and maintain compliance documentation (certificates, servicing records, audits) Support evidence collation for

CQC inspections and audits

Facilitate visits from inspectors, commissioners, and external professionals Maintain contractor records, service logs, and compliance trackers

Housekeeping, Catering & Supplies



Oversee food deliveries, stock rotation, and basic catering support Coordinate cleaning and laundry arrangements Monitor supplies (cleaning products, PPE, consumables) Ensure communal areas are safe, welcoming, and well-maintained

Operational & Client Support (Non-Clinical)



Accompany clients to appointments where appropriate (non-clinical escort role) Support transport arrangements (taxis, bookings, logistics) Assist with general day-to-day operational tasks that enable smooth service delivery

Team & Service Support



Act as a key point of contact between management, contractors, and staff Escalate risks, defects, or concerns promptly Support a positive, calm, and well-organised environment for clients and staff
Skills & Experience (Essential)

Experience in

facilities, estates, operations, or building coordination

Strong organisational and administrative skills Confident working with contractors and external providers Good understanding of health & safety principles Comfortable using digital systems (documents, spreadsheets, shared drives) Calm, professional manner in a sensitive care environment
Desirable (but not essential)

Experience in

health or social care

or regulated environments Knowledge of

CQC, fire safety, or health & safety audits

IOSH / NEBOSH (or willingness to work towards) Full UK driving licence
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From 25,000.00 per year
