Based in Guildford - Where Satellite Magic Happens and HVAC Systems Keep Us Cool
Are you a mechanical or electrical whiz who loves fixing things before they break? Can you troubleshoot a plumbing leak faster than a satellite reaches orbit? Do you dream of a workplace where your skills keep cleanrooms pristine and production humming?
If so, you might just be the Facilities Maintenance Engineer we're looking for.
What You'll Be Up To
Keeping our offices and cleanrooms perfectly climate controlled by managing HVAC maintenance and repairs
Hunting down mechanical and electrical gremlins and sending them packing--think breakdowns, alarms, and plumbing quirks
Doing regular "health checks" on all our facility systems so nothing sneaks up on us
Creating and improving preventative maintenance programs that keep downtime to a minimum (because nobody likes surprises)
Scheduling maintenance so it doesn't interrupt the space magic happening around you
Making sure all maintenance ticks the boxes for safety, regulations, and company policies
Keeping sharp records of inspections and repairs because details matter
Championing safety like a pro and making sure everyone around you does too
Helping plan and roll out facility upgrades and improvements that keep us ahead of the game
Coordinating with vendors and contractors for the big fixes and installations
Keeping an eye on energy use and helping us be as green and efficient as possible
Providing technical support and training to colleagues who might need a little help
Offering out-of-hours support because spacecraft don't keep office hours
What You Bring to the Table
Solid experience in facilities maintenance, ideally in manufacturing or construction
Hands-on mechanical or electrical engineering skills with proven troubleshooting ability
Comfortable using mechanical and electrical test gear like a pro
A Nebosh Diploma or IOSH Certificate in Safety is a big plus (but not mandatory)
Full driving licence for zipping between sites
Ability to gain Security Clearance would be handy
A degree or equivalent technical qualification will definitely get you noticed
Excellent communication skills--you know how to persuade and negotiate with everyone from contractors to engineers
Organised, self-motivated, and flexible enough to juggle changing priorities with ease
A team player with great planning and problem-solving skills who thrives under pressure
Proficient with MS Office, especially Excel and Word
A natural at living and breathing company values: accountability, drive, clear communication, self-management, and teamwork
