Facilities Maintenance Engineering Manager

to oversee all aspects of building maintenance, technical infrastructure, and engineering compliance across our facilities.



This specialist role covers all areas and includes guest homes as required, staff housing, and all buildings and infrastructure throughout the estate. Overseeing the overall repair and maintenance of the club's buildings, assets, infrastructure and landscaping. As the project evolves, the scope of this role may expand.

Joining our team as Engineering Manager you lead and manage the facilities maintenance team, including engineers, technicians and contractors. Overseeing preventative and reactive maintenance for mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing and building systems. Ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our local utilities and extensive facilities from guest housing to staff housing and all buildings and infrastructure.



You maintain peerless, high standards. Providing exemplary service and attitude to members, guests and colleagues. Maintaining our assets and infrastructure, through preventative and cyclical maintenance cycles. Investigating any faults to the root cause. Planning, budgeting, purchasing, and scheduling are key components in this role.



Developing and implementing maintenance strategies to minimize any downtime and ensure the operation runs efficiently and is compliant with health, safety, environmental regulations and engineering standards. Collaborating with departments to support with any operational needs, advising, and allowing for any long-term planning. Taking the lead on complex fault finding and the repair. Rectifying major defects and emergency conditions as quickly as possible. And responding to service requests during business hours, nights and weekends as required.



Leading on continuous improvement, performance, reliability and availability of assets, infrastructure, and associated facilities. Leading on new technologies, products, techniques through research and presenting ideas to the team. Planning and coordinating specific project-based work, small renovations or building construction projects. Always supporting the management team, inspecting, and evaluating the Club; recommending any painting, repair work, renovations, or the replacement of equipment.



Maintaining audit documentation related to Health and Safety, including logs and records. Developing and implementing safety briefs. Reviewing work reports. Finishing work inspections (safety critical tasks) and conducting working reviews of our procedures (SOP's). Supporting Director of Facilities Maintenance with the completion of annual Risk Assessments and DSEAR.



Supporting the maintenance management team and procurement team in identifying and managing preferred suppliers. The working inventory of general building operation consumables and stock management.



Actively involved with the maintenance management team. Leading and developing maintenance staff (Technicians and Senior Technicians) through 1-2-1 coaching, focused training and action planning and mentoring programs. Developing and mentoring Supervisors through focussed training and action planning; succession and mentoring programs.



Supporting with the growth of the maintenance team you participate in hiring and training. Conducting new employee and contractor site inductions. Direct management of the team, you establish an open, collaborative relationship through clear communication and a collaborative approach.

Previous leadership experience with a minimum of five years in a senior engineering and maintenance or related profession. Together with clear technical training to Bachelor of Engineering level. In either electrical, electronic, plumbing, mechanical or construction.



Working knowledge and a comprehensive background in all aspects of commercial facilities, operations and maintenance. Previously managed projects, construction of multiple large scale commercial buildings and assets.



A working knowledge of commercial and residential property facilities (new and historic buildings desired), their operation, maintenance, and repair, including commercial HVAC systems, refrigeration equipment, kitchen equipment and appliances, LPG, Gas, Oil and commercial plumbing systems, lighting electrical systems, life safety systems, and wastewater management systems.



Technical competence with building management systems (BMS), low-voltage automation and familiarity with finish carpentry, furniture maintenance and repair. Excellent understanding of HS at work, COSHH, WAHR, LOLER and PUWER.



Confident and competent reading engineering drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams. Previous experience with a Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS Proficiency. As well as a good understanding of Microsoft Word and Excel, Outlook, and drafting reports.



Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise and manage multiple projects simultaneously in-order to meet deadlines. Working effectively under pressure and/or stringent schedule to produce accurate results. Previous experience within the Hospitality industry, preferably a large resort setting.
