We're looking for an exceptional

Facilities Management Manager

to help us make a difference to our planet.


As our Facilities Management Manager, the job may be suitable for hybrid working, which is where an employee works part of the week in the office and part of the week from home. This is a voluntary, non-contractual arrangement and the location advertised will be your contractual place of work.


Our opportunity is full time, 37 hours per week, but we would also consider applicants wishing to work a minimum of 30 hours per week. Our people are at the heart of what we do and we'll do our best to agree a working pattern that works for everyone.

At the Met Office, our Facilities Management team plays a vital role in supporting the delivery of world-leading weather and climate services. As an FM Manager, you will lead the day-to-day delivery of facilities services across our estate--ensuring our buildings, people, and partners are supported by safe, efficient, and compliant environments.


You will be part of the Property Management Group and report to the Senior FM Manager, working closely with internal teams, contractors, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality FM services that align with our operational needs and sustainability goals.

Your key duties:



Lead and manage the delivery of hard and soft FM services across the Met Office estate, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards. Oversee supplier performance, managing contracts and service level agreements to ensure value for money and high-quality outcomes. Act as a key point of contact for FM-related queries, supporting internal teams and coordinating with external contractors. Support strategic planning, contributing to the development of FM policies, procedures, and long-term asset management plans. Manage budgets and reporting, ensuring accurate financial tracking and contributing to business cases for FM investment. Champion sustainability, identifying opportunities to reduce environmental impact and improve energy efficiency across facilities. #

Essential Criteria, skills and experience:



Proven Facilities Management Experience Demonstrable experience managing hard and soft FM services across multiple sites, with a strong track record of operational delivery. Leadership & Communication Skills Ability to manage contractors, and communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels. Evidencing we are better together. Technical & Financial Competence Proficiency in FM systems and reporting tools, with experience managing budgets, service contracts, and performance metrics. Values-Driven Approach A commitment to sustainability, collaboration, and continuous improvement--reflecting our values as a force for good. Relevant Qualifications A solid understanding of compliance and statutory requirements backed up with either a professional qualification in FM or on-going CPD

43,081 base pay An outstanding Civil Service pension, with an average employer contribution of 28.97% Annual Leave starting at 27.5 days (plus Bank Holidays) rising to 32.5 days (plus Bank Holidays) after 5 years and option to buy or sell up to 5 days per year of annual leave
