We have a very rare and exciting opportunity for a Facilities Manager ideally located around the Lincolnshire area to join our Assets & Facilities team to lead a team of Station Service Technicians to ensure that our stations (including unstaffed stations) are maintained to a high standard, safe, compliant and welcoming for our customers.
You will work cross-functionally with colleagues and stakeholders to deliver against EMR's strategic pillars of excellence - driving performance, safety, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency.
This is a varied, people-focused role where no two days are the same. You will be out and about on the network, keeping things in order and spotting ways we can do things better for both our customers and our colleagues.
The Facilities Manager will:

  • Lead and manage the area Station Services Technicians (SST) ensuring alignment with EMR's values and performance standards. Provide the necessary training, development, and support to deliver high-quality customer service.
  • Ensure full compliance with safety, security, and fire safety policies and systems, and continuously work to improve customer and employee safety.
  • Maintain station facilities in good repair and ensure safety conditions are met through regular inspections.
  • Strive to exceed safety and environmental targets set in the EMR Business and Safety Plans.
  • Implement plans set by the Lead Facilities Manager, ensuring timely completion of recommendations.
  • Foster a safety-first culture within the team and ensure adherence to all health, safety, security, and fire safety procedures.
  • Contribute to customer service improvements at unstaffed stations based on feedback and performance data.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders, including other TOCs, suppliers, and service partners.
  • Ensure high standards of customer experience, operational performance, and safety across all stations.
  • Manage your budget and control staff costs, working with the Finance Business Partner to ensure financial efficiency.
  • Adhere to cash regulations and delegated authority procedures, ensuring proper financial management.
Skills, Experience, & Qualifications Required
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent workplace experience
  • Proven track record of delivering targets and projects on time and within budget
  • High level of numeracy with solid analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong capability in managing change and driving innovation
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a proven ability to build and develop teams
  • Experience in safety management systems and ensuring regulatory compliance and ideally IOSH qualified
  • Ideally experienced in consulting and negotiating with Trade Unions
  • Some knowledge of, or willingness to learn, estates and facilities management principles, experience using CAFM systems
