Facilities Manager and Health & Safety Lead.



Job Summary:



The Fortune Centre of Riding Therapy (FCRT) set within the New Forest, enables people with special needs to have better control over their life and relate more successfully to others through Equine Facilitated Education and Therapy. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a well-functioning, secure and safe work environment. You will be responsible for coordinating and managing all maintenance, redevelopment (where required) and health and safety functions of our two sites.

The role will include managing relationships with any contractors, negotiating contracts and ensuring that contractors deliver services in a timely and effective manner. They will regularly inspect devices, structures, and systems (such as fire alarms and air conditioners) identifying the need for repairs and renovations.

The successful candidate will be able to support the Head of Finance in bidding for improvement grant funds. To be successful in the role the post holder should be able to multitask and have excellent knowledge of health and safety standards.

Main Purpose of the Role:



Be an autonomous manager reporting directly to the Head of Finance.

Oversee any day-to-day operational building issues experienced across all buildings and be the first point of contact for any building or health and safety enquiries.

To ensure all the FCRT's vehicles are maintained to a good standard, always fit for purpose and road worthy.

To attend the Health & Safety and Property Committee meetings and report to the Trustees on all aspects of health and safety and vehicles.

To arrange, chair and minute the termly Health and Safety Awareness Group meetings. Consulting with members, to produce an agenda and the timely distribution of paperwork.

Oversee all facilities activity across the sites, making sure that health and safety standards are met and arranging for repairs when needed.

Support the organisation's senior management team, contributing and providing assurance.

Skills Qualifications and Experience required:



Health and Safety qualification (NEBOSH or equivalent).

Extensive facilities management experience.

Experience of managing facilities and contractors within an education/care setting or similar environment.

Knowledge of statutory legislation i.e. health & safety codes of practice. COSHH, CQC and Ofsted requirements applicable to an education and care premises.

Excellent IT skills.

Excellent leadership, communication skills, and interpersonal abilities.

Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) essential.

Pay: 40,000.00-50,000.00 per year
