Key objectives



The Facilities Manager will be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of mechanical, electrical, and general projects that align with the company's ESG goals. This role requires a strong understanding of sustainability practices, project management, and technical expertise in mechanical and electrical systems, as well as a broader knowledge of ESG initiatives

.



What you will be doing...



Project Planning & Execution



Develop

detailed project plans

(timelines, budgets, resource allocation) for ESG-related mechanical, electrical, and general projects. Oversee project execution to ensure

timely completion, budget adherence, and quality standards

.

Sustainability Integration



Incorporate

ESG principles

(energy efficiency, waste reduction, sustainable materials) into project phases. Implement

innovative solutions

to enhance environmental performance.

Technical Oversight



Provide

expertise

for mechanical and electrical systems (HVAC, lighting, energy management, renewable energy). Ensure

optimization, sustainability, and regulatory compliance

of all systems.

General ESG Project Management



Manage ESG projects, including

water conservation, waste management, green building certifications, and community engagement

. Align projects with

company ESG strategy and goals

.

Stakeholder Collaboration



Work with internal teams, contractors, vendors, and regulatory bodies

for successful project delivery. Facilitate

effective communication and coordination

among stakeholders.

Budget & Financial Management



Develop and manage

project budgets

, ensuring

cost-effectiveness and quality standards

. Monitor expenditures and ensure

financial accountability

Risk Management



Identify

potential risks

and develop

mitigation strategies

. Ensure

compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements

Performance Monitoring & Reporting



Track and report on

project progress, performance metrics, and ESG impact

regular updates

to senior management and stakeholders.

Continuous Improvement



Stay informed about

industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies

in sustainability and ESG initiatives. Implement

continuous improvement processes

for better project outcomes.

Leadership & Team Development



Lead and mentor project teams

, fostering sustainability and excellence. Promote

professional development

for team members.

Regulatory Compliance



Ensure projects

comply with local, national, and international ESG, safety, and environmental standards

. Stay updated on

regulatory changes

to maintain compliance.

Documentation & Record Keeping



Maintain

comprehensive project documentation

(plans, reports, records of actions). Ensure documentation is

accurate, up-to-date, and accessible

.

Compliance



Manage

finance processes

to ensure adherence to Westfield policies. Ensure compliance with

Health, Safety, and Environmental Policy

best practices. Maintain an

audit trail

of health and safety documentation. Oversee projects for

CDM regulation compliance

. Ensure compliance with

insurance requirements and recommendations

. Track

non-compliances

and follow through to resolution.

Energy, Environmental & Sustainability



Develop a

long-term sustainability programme

to reduce the carbon footprint. Work with suppliers to

integrate energy and environmental best practices

into contracts. Identify opportunities to

enhance environmental credentials and accreditations

.

Team Performance



Provide

leadership and support

to facilities teams and the broader business. Collaborate with departments to

achieve objectives and enhance reputation

.

Implement innovation

and new initiatives with tangible business benefits.

What skills, experience, and knowledge will you need to be successful?



Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, Environmental Science, or a related field. Proven experience in managing mechanical, electrical, and general ESG projects. Strong knowledge of ESG principles and practices. Excellent project management skills, including planning, budgeting, and risk management. Technical expertise in mechanical and electrical systems, including HVAC, lighting, and energy management. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Certification in Project Management (PMP) or Facilities Management (CFM) is a plus. Proven experience in the Facilities Management and Building Services sectors Working knowledge of Consumer Law, Trading Standards and related legislation Comprehensive knowledge of relevant legislation and compliance requirements Relevant safety training and a working knowledge of health and safety legislation, with practical experience in the implementation of procedures Proven negotiating and influencing skills Demonstrated understanding of building principles and mechanical systems Relevant qualifications and accreditations.
