Job Description

Here at GXO, we are currently recruiting for a full-time, permanent Facilities Operative to join our team at Northampton, NN4 5EL ensuring that basic daily issues are resolved across the whole of the site to keep the workplace safe at all times.
This is full-time, permanent position, working on a 4 on, 4 off shift between the hours of 07:00 - 19:00.

What you'll do on a typical day:

• Supporting the facilities manager with completing statutory basic maintenance checks
• Weekly sprinkler checks
• Weekly generator tests
• Daily, weekly and monthly fire safety checks
• Assist with breakdowns of machinery which includes fault finding
• Contractor inductions and monitoring contractors whilst on site
• Assisting in waste management and all ad-hoc repairs to fixtures and fittings

What you need to succeed at GXO:

• Facilities experience is essential
• Basic plumbing, woodwork and electrical skills would be helpful
• Strong communication skills, along with good listening skills
• Self -motivated with the ability to prioritise workloads and work under own initiative
• IT literate using Word and Excel
• Adhere to GXO Health and Safety policies
