Normal Hours: Monday to Friday 7.00am- 3.30pm with a paid 30 minute lunch break and a paid 15 minute morning break.
Some weekend and occasional evening/overnight working will be required to support events, for which time in lieu will be given. Increased hours may be available during summer months, which may be paid as overtime at the discretion of line management. This role will work as part of the "on-call" team rota when requested.

Job Purpose
Work as part of the Venue Facilities Team to ensure that the venue is presented and maintained to the highest levels for all of its users (staff, tenants, event organisers, visitors and guests etc.). The Royal Highland Centre includes 4 main exhibitions halls, 87 ancillary buildings and 280 acres of Showground which hosts the prestigious Royal Highland Show as well as numerous other diverse events.
What You'll Do
Assist in the maintenance/presentation of the showground all year round
Support the venues requirements across a busy and diverse event calendar
Support the delivery of events through setup preparation and covering the hours of event build and break periods
Complete regular building, ground and plant inspections
Ensure that all relevant statutory and procedural records are maintained in accordance with Royal Highland Centre procedures
Support the delivery of the Royal Highland Show
Regularly review risk assessments and safe systems of work in line with your daily tasks
Carry out various horticultural tasks including but not limited to:
o Weed killing
o Grass and turf repairs
o Bedding and potting of plants
o Edging of lawn areas
Other Duties:
Complete general repairs across the venue and report progress via the RHASS task management system
Good knowledge of building management systems including: fire panels, intruder alarms, air handling and conditioning units, electrical service and lighting
Be able to deliver in-house event set ups including: barrier configurations, room set ups, AV equipment, using plant equipment, hanging and removing drapes and marking out
Work as part of the "on-call" team rota when requested
Utilise and support the venue permit to work system
Champion our Health and Safety policy across all activities
Report any damage or defects identified to the site coordinator
To undertake any training required for the post, as defined by the Venue Facilities Manager
Any other task reasonably requested by your line manager
What You'll Bring
Experience working in a relevant role, in a busy and demanding customer focused environment
Ability to work under own initiative, as well as part of a team
Ability to build and maintain relationships with a wide range of individuals including; directors, other staff, contractors, tenants and clients
A 'can do' attitude
Ability to deal with situations as they arise within scope of the role and follow the chain of command procedures as appropriate
Proven reliability and punctuality
Forklift accreditation
First Aid at work training (can be provided if necessary)
Full UK Driving License

Annual holiday entitlement starting at 30 days per annum, including public holidays and up to 4 discretionary Directors days to be taken between Christmas and New Year
Contributory pension scheme under which the Society contributes 10% of basic salary on the provision that you contribute 6%.
