37.5 hours per week, worked over 5 days on a 7-day rota (Monday to Sunday)
In this role, you will contribute to the maintenance of Hospice estate functions, ensuring optimum environmental, accommodation, and support service standards are met in line with Hospice guidelines, safety standards, and budgetary constraints.
You will be involved in the day-to-day operational activities of the Facilities/Estates Maintenance team (comprising seven staff members), as well as volunteers and external contractors, working across the Hospice, Education buildings, and shops. You will report daily to the Head of Facilities and will be responsible for proactive maintenance, fault finding, repairs, improvements, and office moves across a wide range of equipment and systems.
The range of equipment you will work with includes: medical oxygen systems, hot and cold water systems, heating systems, laundry equipment, lifts, air conditioning and ventilation systems, emergency generators, mechanical services, as well as fixed and portable equipment. You will also be involved with nurse call systems, security and fire alarm systems, and both medical and non-medical devices.
The Facilities Team is responsible for delivering high-quality services that are fit for purpose in terms of customer service, premises accommodation, facilities, and health and safety.
Based at the Hospice in Trinity, Edinburgh, this is an exciting and challenging role where no two days are the same.
