The Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is looking for flexible and reliable individuals to work as Facilities Technicians (Portering) at both Leeds General Infirmary and St James's Hospital.
We currently have permanent vacancies, for Facilities Technicians to work as a Porter responsible for the movement of patients, waste and items around the site.
The available positions are on a permanent basis working 37.5 hours a week on a variable shift pattern. The shifts include earlies, lates, nights and weekends working on a variable rota with 2 weeks notice of the shifts you are required to work. There are currently no fixed shift patterns available at this time so candidates are expected to be flexible in their availability.
Successful applicants will be invited to an interview assessment centre held on the 4th December 2025 at the Leeds General Infirmary. The assessment centre will be recruiting for positions available at both LGI and SJUH sites regardless of the interview location.
A full enhanced DBS check will be required for all roles.
There are no part time vacancies or fixed shift opportunities available at this time so please do not apply unless you are able to work 37.5 hours a week over varying shifts.
Main duties of the job
The roles will be to provide portering services to patients, transporting them to and from clinical areas across the site. There will also be an expectation to move waste and other items and complete ad-hoc duties when required.
