We are a family run business employing our entire workforce on a PAYE basis, recognising that our people make our business the success it is today.

Our Property Flood Resilience (PFR) department works alongside a range of blue-chip companies such as; Environment Agency and Yorkshire Water as well as Local Councils nationwide. As part of the Flood Mitigation process on many domestic premises, Whitehouse supply and fit bespoke BSI Kitemarked Flood Doors which are manufactured at our purpose made Manufacturing Facility in Derby.

To ensure we meet the programme and quality requirements for the supply of our Kitemarked Flood Doors, we are looking to add a

Factory Floor Manager

to our current workforce.

As a Factory Floor Manager working within our Flood Door Manufacturing Facility, you will be responsible for carrying out daily briefings and monitoring the performance of all Fabrication Personnel to ensure production and quality targets are achieved. The role is offered on a directly employed, full time basis working out of our Manufacturing Facility.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Supervision of all Fabrication Personnel. Carry out daily Breakfast and training/safety briefings. Ensure the works are running smoothly, effectively, and safely. Be able to deal with daily issues swiftly and promptly. Monitoring performance of the Manufacturing Team and ensuring daily outputs are achieved. Ensure work orders have been processed and cutting lists are available for the Fabrication Team to enable the works programme to be achieved. Ensure material stocks are maintained and place orders in good time when required to maintain work continuity. Understand the production processes involved in making Flood Doors and all components used (training to be provided initially). Ensure all Fabricators have had the required training for tasks being carried out. Ensure all quality recording, testing, and traceability processes is done in line with the British Standards Institute requirements. Ensure machinery is serviced, maintained, and repaired in accordance with the Manufacturing Facility requirements. Report on production outputs on a weekly basis to the Business Manager for PFR.
The ideal candidate will have the following qualities / skills:

Be reliable. Be a good manager of people. Be self-motivated and well organised. Have a full, clean driving license. Have good time management skills. Be able to operate as part of a team. Have good communication and IT skills.
