Job Description

Griffiths & Hood Ltd is a family-run office furniture manufacturer based in Leigh-on-Sea, Essex. Operating since 1964, we manufacture bespoke office furniture, panels, and joinery from veneer, laminate, melamine, MDF, plywood, solid timber, and other materials.

We are looking for a

Factory Labourer with Painting/Spraying Experience

to join a busy and expanding team. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a friendly, professional, and well-established family-run company.

The right candidate must be self-motivated, reliable, and hard-working.

Responsibilities



Prepare surfaces for painting and spraying, including sanding and priming. Assist in production processes, including the use of hand tools where appropriate. Apply paint, lacquer, or other finishes to furniture and panels using spray equipment. Perform manual tasks such as lifting, sorting, and packaging products. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the work area to ensure safety. Follow instructions from supervisors to meet production targets. Conduct quality checks on products to ensure they meet standards. Collaborate with team members to enhance workflow efficiency.

Qualifications



Previous experience in a factory or manufacturing environment. Experience in painting/spraying departments, preferably within a furniture or woodwork setting. Experience with hand tools. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions. Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects. Basic understanding of safety protocols and procedures. Team player with good communication skills.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 12.21 per hour

Schedule:

Monday to Friday
Work Location: In person
