Role Overview
We are seeking a motivated and reliable Factory Operative to join our Novo production team. You will be responsible for assisting in the manufacturing, assembly, and preparation of timber frame panels and components to meet our highest quality standards, while working efficiently to meet our production targets.
This is a hands-on role within a fast-paced factory environment, requiring good teamwork, excellent care and attention to detail, and a firm commitment to health and safety.
Key Responsibilities
Manufacture and assemble timber frame panels, floors, and other structural components using machinery, power tools, and hand tools.
Read and work from technical drawings and cutting lists.
Operate saws, nail guns, and other woodworking machinery safely and efficiently.
Ensure all products are made to the required specifications and quality standards.
Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
Work collaboratively with team members to achieve daily production targets.
Follow company policies, procedures, and health & safety guidelines at all times.
Carry out routine checks and basic maintenance of tools and equipment.
Assist with loading/unloading materials and finished panels as required.
Skills & Experience Required
Strong attention to detail and quality standards.
Reliable, punctual, and able to work to deadlines.
Previous experience in a manufacturing, joinery, carpentry, or construction environment (not essential - training will be provided).
Ability to read and interpret basic technical drawings and measurements.
Skilled in the safe use of hand tools and power tools.
Physically fit with the ability to carry out manual handling tasks.
Good teamwork and communication skills.
Desirable
Experience in timber frame manufacturing or panelised construction.
Forklift licence or experience with factory lifting equipment.
Basic knowledge of health & safety regulations in a factory setting.
