Why Work for us:

We are looking for an officer to join our trading standards team looking at the safety of products imported through the port of Southampton.

The port of Southampton is a major point of entry for products which are sold throughout the UK. You will be working at the border control point within the port to check ensure that imported products do not present a risk to consumers and liaising with importers to ensure compliance with legal standards.

Ideally, you should have some experience of regulatory work and law enforcement activity. You will need to be able to make decisions about product compliance with safety standards and be able to liaise confidently with stakeholders such as importers, agents, laboratory staff and other regulators such as Border Force and OPSS
