Why this job matters

You will be part of a team of multi skilled specialists responsible for the end to end delivery of customer DFTS service on secure and non-secure services contracts.

Maintaining a flexible and pro-active approach to all aspects of work, you\'ll resolve day to day issues to both the clients\' and BT\'s satisfaction. You\'ll be leading on the Common core platform, the Flexible High Bandwidth Network FHBN, Inet and associated equipment that makes up the secure network. This will involve providing business continuity to the P2P, CCP & IP Services data platforms, and maintaining operational cover of 24-hour shift positions from the primary or fallback control centre.

This role will be full time site based in Corsham, Wilshire.

What you\'ll be doing

  • Monitor/facilitate repair of the DFTS layer 2 data platforms. Assist & support ongoing GOSCC operations. Complete daily management of platform specific provision & repair activities
  • Maintain the service level agreements for each platform during problem management activities and juniper router management networks. Flexibility to work on-call 1 week in 3 if required.
  • You can assist the Operation and Service managers in establishing, maintaining & improving support systems and local procedures
  • Comply with BT and The MOD Health & Safety policy as well as the Enhanced security requirements
  • You understand the regulatory, fair trading, competition, data protection and anti-corruption and bribery rules sufficiently to comply with them, relying on your own knowledge or capability to recognise when you need specialist support

What we would like to see on your CV
  • Excellent knowledge of ATM, TDM, DWDM technologies
  • Knowledge of Juniper routers running OPSF, BGP and MPLS L2
  • Knowledge of Crypto and Microwave radio systems
  • Understanding of SNMP management
  • The successful candidate must be willing to undergo Government Security Clearance to DV level, which requires residence in the UK for a minimum of 10 years
