Families First Advice Line Advisor

. This is an excellent opportunity to support children, young people, and families through early intervention -- helping them access the right services, at the right time.

About the role:



You'll provide

initial advice and guidance over the phone

to parents, carers, and professionals -- helping them navigate support options across the community. From signposting services to conducting wellbeing and risk assessments, your work will help families get back on track before challenges escalate.

Based in

Barry (yes, Gavin & Stacey territory!)

, you'll be part of a supportive, values-led team delivering high-quality early help under the Families First programme.

Key Responsibilities:



Provide advice and guidance by phone to families and professionals Assess wellbeing, risk, and need to inform support planning Signpost service users to appropriate community services Liaise with internal and external agencies to build support packages Maintain accurate, up-to-date records in line with service standards Contribute to multi-agency working and raise awareness of local resources Participate in supervision, team meetings, and service development

What you'll need:



Experience working with children, young people, or families in a support setting Strong understanding of early intervention and preventative services Ability to assess need and risk sensitively and professionally Excellent communication and listening skills Ability to manage a busy caseload and meet tight deadlines Familiarity with relevant legislation (Social Services & Wellbeing (Wales) Act, etc.) A team player mindset with a passion for helping families thrive
