Job Description

This Project is funded for two years by the Whole Family Wellbeing Fund to provide holistic, early intervention, and "no wrong door" support to families facing complex challenges across East Ayrshire, ensuring seamless access to wraparound resources.

Working within a team of three Family Wellbeing Workers and three Family Engagement Workers you will be a key relationship holder for families accessing the service within East Ayrshire. This role is crucial to the delivery of a "no wrong door" philosophy by serving as the family's consistent guide and advocate. The Engagement Workers will deliver holistic, needs-based support, co-create personalised support plans, and proactively coordinate access to all necessary internal and external resources reducing the burden on families and preventing issues from escalating. The ultimate goal is to build trust and empower families to take control of their well-being.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Service Delivery

Actively participate in individual family assessments alongside the Family Wellbeing Worker, specifically utilising creative methods (e.g., drawing, mood boards, storyboarding) to understand the interests, hobbies, and strengths of children and young people

Lead the process of co-designing and co-producing activities alongside families, ensuring that the activities directly address the therapeutic and skill-building goals identified in the family's support plan.

Support the establishment and ongoing function of the Family Advisory Group, ensuring their feedback and guidance directly shape the service's broader programming and activities

Utilise and contribute to the service's Community Asset Mapping to identify and link families to existing local clubs, groups, and resources in East Ayrshire, fostering sustainable community integration.

Plan, coordinate, and lead a diverse range of engaging family-based activities (e.g., creative workshops, outdoor pursuits, skill-building sessions) designed to strengthen family bonds and build confidence.

Forge practical links with community groups and local providers to deliver activities, ensuring they are accessible, affordable, and relevant to the family's existing interests.

Ensure activities are outcome-focused, supporting the development of positive parenting skills, improved communication, reduced isolation, or increased community engagement.

Manage all logistical arrangements for activities, including risk assessments, booking venues, sourcing materials, and ensuring activities are delivered safely and inclusively.

Family Relationship Support and Engagement

Support Family Wellbeing Workers by facilitating positive interactions within the family unit during activities, using the activity context to deepen relationships and promote mutual support.

Conduct targeted outreach to encourage families already on the caseload who may be hesitant to engage, highlighting the strength-based, fun, and non-judgemental nature of the activities.

Gather ongoing, real-time feedback from families post-activity to ensure the collaborative process is continuous and that all future programming is continuously improved.

Professional Practice

Uphold and adhere to the organisation's Child Protection and Adult Safeguarding policies, ensuring the welfare of participants is paramount during all activities.

Maintain clear, concise records of activity plans, participation rates, and feedback gathered, contributing to the evaluation of the service's success in achieving its engagement goals.
