Family Group Conference Coordinator Grade 5


Starting Well, Early Help and Targeted Support


2 x Fixed Term 18 Months (36 hours per week)

If so, we want you to join our dedicated team as a Family Group Conference Coordinator within the Starting Well, Early Help & Targeted Family Support service.


What You'll Do



Lead and facilitate Family Group Conferences

and reviews, empowering families from diverse backgrounds to make positive decisions for their children.

Work collaboratively

with children, families, and partner agencies to prepare, support, and guide everyone through the Family Group Conferencing process.

Plan, coordinate and evaluate

conferences, ensuring every child's voice is heard and their outcomes are improved.

Contribute to service development

, helping shape Havering's Family Group Conferencing Service and implementation of Family Group Decision Making across the Directorate.

Work flexibly

both inside and outside the borough, sometimes outside normal office hours, to meet the needs of families.

You will be the ideal candidate if you have the following:



A professional qualification

in health, education, social care, or a related field.

Family Group Conference qualification

(or a willingness to undertake training).

At least 3 years' experience

working with children and families in a relevant setting.

Excellent communication skills

, both written and verbal, and the ability to manage complex family dynamics.

Commitment to safeguarding, equality, diversity, and confidentiality

in all aspects of your work.

Confidence to work independently

, including lone working in family homes and various community settings.
