This role is to support the delivery of Family Time for children and young people who are cared for in Tameside.
The role of Family Intervention Worker includes organising, supervising, completing accurate record keeping and assessing Family Time.
It is vital that the role includes the safeguarding of children and young people.
Working together with a range of agencies including Social Workers to support Family Time sessions directed by the court and provide feedback to support care planning decisions for Children and Young People.
You will complete interventions with families during the Family Time sessions as identified in the wider plan i.e. parenting, supporting parents to meet the children's basic needs, modelling play etc.
About You
In order to fulfil this role it is important that candidates have excellent communication skills including verbal and written. Are able to record information accurately and factually and provide reports/evaluations to reflect family time sessions.
It is important as part of the role:
To interact and engage children, young people and families within supervised family time sessions and in other settings.
To prioritise Family Time to ensure children and young people maintain contact with family members.
To work in a child centred approach and be able to gather the wishes and feelings of children and young people.
To work with a range of professionals such as education, health, social care, police etc to support family time and rehabilitation home where required.
To have experience of working with children and young people who are cared for and experience of supervising family time.
To manage a busy caseload and respond to incidents and challenges appropriately ensuring the safety of children and young people is prioritised.
