Longmead Community Farm is a welcoming rural space dedicated to supporting families and individuals through meaningful activities, learning opportunities, and community engagement. We are looking for a passionate and organised Family Support Manager to oversee our family support programmes and lead a team delivering high-quality services to our community.
The Role
This is a varied and rewarding position with responsibilities that include:
- Leading and coordinating family support programmes.
- Managing staff and volunteers to ensure effective service delivery.
- Developing partnerships with local agencies and community organisations.
Key Responsibilities
Design, implement, and evaluate family support programmes aligned with Longmead Community Farm's mission.
Manage referrals and liaise with local authorities, agencies, and referrers.
Recruit, train, and supervise staff and volunteers.
Work directly with families to assess needs, develop support plans, and provide ongoing case management.
Facilitate workshops, support groups, and educational sessions.
Maintain accurate records and prepare reports for management and funders.
Act as the designated safeguarding officer, ensuring compliance with safeguarding legislation.
Champion the Longmead family programme internally and externally.
What We're Looking ForEssential
Relevant professional qualification in social work, family therapy, community development, or related field.
Minimum 3 years' experience in programme management or family support services.
Experience managing staff and volunteers.
Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection principles.
Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups.
Desirable
Familiarity with rural or farm environments.
First Aid qualification.
Creative skills (arts, crafts, outdoor education).
Hours & Pay
16 hours per week.
Competitive hourly rate.
Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required.
Safeguarding
This role requires an enhanced DBS check and adherence to Longmead Community Farm's safeguarding policy.
