Family Support Worker (Female only candidates)- Bramhall, Stockport



Zero hour contract @ 15.00 per hour day rate and National living wage sleep rate.



About the Role

We are looking for a caring, reliable, and enthusiastic Family

Support Worker

to join our small team supporting a

14-year-old girl with an acquired brain injury, full of life and laughter

who lives at home with her mum, dad, younger brother, and sister.

She enjoys getting out and about, trying new activities, and having fun with others. Your role will focus on

supporting her to access community activities in the evenings, weekends and during the week during school holidays

, helping to build her confidence and independence away from mum and dad.

At times, you'll also work alongside another support worker to

support her younger siblings

, enabling all the children to enjoy outings together during weekends and school holidays.

This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference -- helping the family to create positive shared experiences and supporting the young people to develop greater independence and social opportunities.

A message from the client's family:

Our daughter is a loving, inquisitive, and quirky teenage girl with a brilliant sense of humour. She loves her family but is at the stage where she would like some independence. She enjoys bowling, swimming and generally being out and about socialising.

Example of shifts to be covered:



(this is changeable and there may be more hours available during the school holidays)

Tuesday - 15:00-19:30

Wednesday- 15:00-19:30

Monday or Friday- 15:00-19:30

Saturday- 13:00-17:00

+ Saturday x2 evenings per month

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate core values such as:

Key Responsibilities



Providing support to a 14-year-old girl to access community and leisure activities

Working as part of a small team to support her and her siblings on family outings

Encouraging independence, confidence, and social interaction

Ensuring a safe, supportive, and fun environment

Provide support and care to younger siblings

Working in partnership with the family to promote positive outcomes

Essential Requirements Include:



Skills in working autonomously when required however knows when to seek advice and assistance from the wider team, excellent communication skills including IT and verbal/non-verbal skills.

Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team and engage with psychological therapy to enhance the support provision and communication for the client.

Evidence of qualifications in Health and Social Care equivalent to the care certificate/ NVQ level 2.

Preferable:



Previous experience of working with people who have a brain injury, and/or of working within a multi-disciplinary team including therapy and rehabilitation.

Please note that employment will be subject to references and an enhanced DBS disclosure being obtained.
