Parenting Practitioner (Family Support Worker)

We are looking for enthusiastic individuals to join our growing team of Parenting Practitioners.

Advanced CCA specialise in Children's Social Work investigations and Assessments. We are passionate about the work we do; we always adopt a child-centred approach and strive to deliver the very best possible outcome across all the cases we handle.

The role



Undertake direct work with parents and children. Rotating shift pattern within parents' homes or within the community. Working positively and constructively with parents who present with a range of challenges. Provide daily evidence-based reports to support the Independent Social Worker's assessment to be used for court proceedings. The work will be on a self-employed basis and the working hours may vary depending on the needs of the service and the families you are working with. The majority of cases are 12-hour shifts. Shifts will include days, evenings, weekends and waking nights.

The Responsibilities



To deliver a child focused approach. Responsible for safeguarding children, young people and families and escalating any safeguarding concerns as per our safeguarding policy. Responsibility for the supervision, monitoring, and observation of parents in their ability to care for their child/ren and of children in a secure setting. Responsibility to support and model on core parental capabilities, providing feedback, advice and challenging where appropriate. Provide comprehensive and analytical daily written evidence-based reports. Embracing and accepting diversity, cultures, and religions. Supporting positive relationships. Verbal de-escalation techniques to minimise conflict.

The Candidate



Essential



Min level 2 CACHE, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification. Experience of working in the field of social care, health, education, youth work, police, or probation and with parents and children within a professional organisation. Experience of direct work with children and families. Experience in safeguarding. High Standard of oral and written communication skills. To provide ongoing advice and support. To work with other professionals. To be compassionate, resilient, understanding and supportive. To be pragmatic and to problem solve.

Desirable



Level 2 Safeguarding training An understanding of positive parenting strategies. Accredited parenting course qualification (such as Triple P, Incredible Years or Nurturing Programme) Accredited domestic abuse training (Freedom Programme/Gateway programme)
Training for the role will be given including safeguard training.

Please note that due to the nature of the role, applicants will undergo strict vetting procedures. These include DBS checks, qualification checks, reference checks and identity checks.

Job Types: Self-employed.

Salary: 14.00-17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 12 - 48 per week
