Farm Manager (Hands-On) - Local Candidates Only

Location: within a 30 minute commute of Hertford / Little Berkhamsted

Schedule: 5 days per week

We are looking for an experienced, reliable Farm Manager to run the day-to-day operations of a working farm and landscape project.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who leads by example, has strong practical skills, and is comfortable managing land, animals, and people.

Responsibilities

Full day-to-day management of the farm Landscape design, gardening, and general land maintenance Tree care, especially apple trees (planting, pruning, maintenance) Maintenance of a natural swimming pond Care and management of livestock, mainly cattle Confident handling and taming of horses and alpacas Supervising other workers and giving clear daily instructions Maintaining high standards across all areas of the farm Carrying out physical work alongside the team when required
Requirements

Proven experience in farm, estate, or land management Strong animal-handling experience Practical leadership skills and good common sense Reliable, committed, respectful, and hardworking Must already live locally and be able to commute daily Available to work 5 days per week
