To assist across the Farm Saved Seed Collection process, including investigation and communication to Farmers. The role includes working as part of a team to identify, investigate and resolve any unreturned declarations and discrepancies in farmers' declarations of farm saved seed use. To provide support for the Royalty collection and administration of the collection.
Principal Elements
To investigate and resolve discrepancies in farmers' declarations of farm saved seed use for combinable crops by contacting farmers, identifying and recording the findings and taking appropriate remedial action. Telephoning Farmers to obtain unreturned declarations working from an Excel spreadsheet and database.
To work with the Field Officers to verify farmers' declarations of farm saved seed by telephoning farmers to obtain further information.
To support the Farm Saved Royalty Co Ordinator to resolve Further Investigation queries.
To monitor and action any undeliverable, bounced or unsubscribed e-mails sent from the BSPB database using Sendgrid software. To correct the contact method in the database and complete the communication with the Farmer.
To assist in the input and correction of contacts from Farmer declarations that are separated from the main collection in query boxes.
To assist in monitoring the Farm Saved seed e-mail box by resolving and responding to all queries in a timely manner with the help of the FSS Team.
Provide general phone cover for busy times in the office.
Other duties as may reasonably be requested from time to time.
Knowledge and Experience
Essential:
IT skills - Proficient working knowledge of Windows & Microsoft packages including Word, Excel, email and internet.
Communication - Excellent interpersonal skills and confident communication skills on the telephone and in writing emails. Able to build rapport with farmers and team members.
Preferred
:
Previous work experience - Previous office administration experience. Speaking to customers on the telephone. Inputting information onto Excel.
Customer Service - Confident understanding and practical experience of dealing directly with the general public in a customer service environment delivering a high standard of service.
Desirable:
Knowledge or interest of farming, rural affairs or plant breeding is desirable but not essential as training will be given.
