Dale Farm Cooperative is a UK dairy farmer co-operative owned by over 1200 dairy farmers who supply us with fresh milk. Farm Sustainability Technical Lead

Lead on-farm implementation of Future Strong Farm Sustainability Programme, including management of on-farm sustainability team. In conjunction with the Head of Sustainability and the wider producer services team, provide technical input into the development of Future Strong Farm Sustainability Programme across all elements of sustainability. Work with the Dale Farm Sustainability Team to integrate farm sustainability into company-wide sustainability approaches. Provide technical review of Farm Nutrient Management Plans delivered as part of Future Strong.

Detailed requirements


Implementation of Future Strong Farm Sustainability Programme in GB and NI

Drive/monitor supplier participation. Manage penalties, deductions and repayments. Oversee all Nutrient Management Plans produced. Implement and develop Future Strong assurance process. Organise Future Strong Farm events as required. Oversee and ensure programme of supplier support in place for DAERA farm carbon audit programme. As Future Strong Farm sustainability programme broadens and deepens provide input into the development of the programme. Provide analysis and reporting of Future Strong farm results as required Provide technical messaging and feedback to producers through various channels both meeting based and via written communication Determine need for Dale Farm in-house soil testing programme. Manage soil testing programme as required

Management of On-Farm Sustainability Team

Line management of two team members including planning of workload. Record of monthly activities. Manage team in terms of delivery of on farm Red Tractor support and other initiatives e.g. Kingshay Margin over purchased feed recording programme.

General

Point of contact for milk suppliers regarding on farm sustainability programme and for the Dale Farm farmer services team. Attend range of internal/external meetings regarding on-farm sustainability. Keep up to date with technical developments in agricultural sustainability.

Essential


At least two years experience in a farmer facing agricultural sustainability role Relevant degree IT literacy requirements as use of spreadsheets etc. will be central Ability to undertake training as required

Desirable

Relevant post-graduate degree FACTS qualified
