Role Overview



We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated

FDA Systems Engineer

with a strong background in

Fire, Intruder, Access Control, and CCTV systems

. The successful candidate will be responsible for the service, maintenance, commissioning, and small works installation of a range of life safety and security systems, ensuring all works are completed in compliance with company standards, regulatory requirements, and best industry practices.

This is a multi-disciplinary role requiring excellent technical ability, strong organisational skills, and a professional approach to client engagement.

Key Responsibilities



Ensure all service, maintenance, and repair works are carried out in accordance with the company's management system, compliance standards, and approval body requirements. Work closely with the

FDA Operations Manager

to plan and deliver Preventative Maintenance (PM), Corrective Action Reports (CAR), and remedial works. Participate in the

on-call rota

, anticipated at

1 in 4

. Prepare and maintain all Health & Safety documentation, including

Risk Assessments

and

Method Statements (RAMS)

, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and correct filing. Complete all commissioning, handover, and certification documentation in a timely manner, ensuring copies are returned and filed for O&M manuals and job records. Maintain and promote the company's high service and workmanship standards at all times. Support surveys, client liaison, and assist with business development activities where required.

Duties Include



Fire Systems



Fire alarm servicing, maintenance, commissioning, and small works installation. Fault finding, programming, and alterations on

Conventional, Addressable, and Wireless Fire Alarm Systems

. Fire suppression system service and installation. Commissioning of all fire and suppression systems in line with relevant standards, approvals, and company procedures.

Security Systems



Service, maintenance, fault finding, and commissioning of: Intruder alarm systems Access control systems CCTV systems

Operations & Planning



Work collaboratively with the FDA Operations Manager to effectively manage engineers, subcontractors, and company resources. Assist with day-to-day, weekly, and monthly planning and scheduling of works. Conduct system surveys and liaise directly with clients to understand requirements and deliver solutions.

Skills & Experience



Proven experience as a multi-skilled engineer across

Fire, Intruder, Access Control, and CCTV systems

. Strong fault-finding and commissioning skills. Good understanding of relevant British Standards and compliance requirements. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Full UK driving licence (essential).
