The Role

C+D is looking for a creative and enthusiastic features assistant and C+D Community reporter to join its multi-award-winning editorial team in central London. Reporting to the Editor, the successful candidate will be responsible for commissioning lively opinion pieces and creating short features content for C+D, catering to the UK\xe2\x80\x99s 80,000-strong community pharmacy workforce. The successful candidate will work on exciting multimedia projects such as podcast and video series, with plenty of opportunity to grow and progress within the role. They will also have the chance to develop their reporting skills, writing news stories as required by the news editor. They also will also create exclusive content for C+D\xe2\x80\x99s peer-to-peer Community platform to engage with and grow the brand\xe2\x80\x99s audience in new and exciting ways.

Responsibilities:

• Commissioning comment pieces on the most pressing issues facing community pharmacists and their teams
• Writing and commissioning exclusive content for C+D, writing news stories and features as required and creating multimedia content
• Pitching lively and engaging short features ideas to the editor
• Commissioning exclusive content for C+D\xe2\x80\x99s peer-to-peer Community platform
• Attending conferences and industry events
• Developing an impressive contacts book, ensuring that voices from across the community pharmacy sector are heard
• Partial responsibility for C+D\xe2\x80\x99s social media output

Requirements

• Previous journalism experience
• Training from an NCTJ-accredited course is desirable but not essential
• Brimming with ideas for comment pieces, interactive content, campaigns and data-driven journalism
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Up-to-date knowledge of media and publishing law
• A proven track record of meeting deadlines
• Strong attention to detail
• Self-motivated
• Calm under pressure
• A passion for using multimedia reporting techniques and social media to develop audience engagement
• Capable of quickly getting to grips with complex topics

• Knowledge of the healthcare sector in the UK is desirable, but not essential
• Proven track record of working well within an editorial team
