Female Children's Support Worker

Job Description

We are looking for a *female children's support worker to work with a 6-year-old with Down's Syndrome and support her mother at home and in the community. This is a new post and working hours will gradually increase. We are ideally looking for someone also able to cover full weekends on as required basis in the future.

You will be supporting with playing with our client, supporting with her therapy programmes of OT, Physiotherapy and SALT, reading, play time and personal care. The role will involve supporting her mother with holidays abroad for up to 2 weeks a year.

This post would be ideal if you have a therapy background/interest and experience in therapy with children.

You will need to be a driver.

As well as care and support, you will be trained by the appointed therapists to be able to carry out a rehabilitation programme.

Our client seeks someone who is well organised, flexible, and fun.

Working Hours:



Two days a week Monday, Tuesday or Thursday 13.20 - 21.00 plus 1 night a week.

Day shifts would involve collecting from school and taking her to hydrotherapy

sessions. Supporting with her bedtime routine/ CPAP.

Waking night for 1 night a week ideally on a Friday or Saturday night.

Rates of Pay:



Monday - Friday: 18.00 per hour

Saturday: 20.00 per hour

Bank Holidays: 36.00 per hour

An NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or equivalent is desirable. Otherwise, the applicant must be willing to undertake Care Certificate training.

All posts are subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure with Adult and Child Workforce Barring. Full training will be provided and paid for.
