To be part of a 24-hour care team providing a high level of support to a young lady with complex health needs and learning difficulties, in her Family home. Candidates must be kind and respectful and be motivated to ensure the client is supported in all aspects of her personal life enabling her to live an independent and fulfilled life. This role is for a day or night support worker. Day support workers will not be expected to cover night shifts but all candidates will need to be able to work flexibly covering some weekends and evenings. This is an employed PAYE position.

Duties include:

Washing/bathing, assisting with all personal care.

Meeting the clients 24hrs postural management needs requiring the candidate to be experienced in moving and handling clients with similar needs.

Enabling and supporting the client in her choice of daily activities and facilitating the client's independence and inclusive quality of life.

Support the use of specialised equipment including communication aids, moving and handling items, postural management systems and sensory equipment/games.

Driving/walking to activities/appointments and supporting the client.

Monitoring all health care needs including seizure management, bowel/urine output, nutritional needs and pain management.

To support therapy sessions and follow instructions provided by therapists.

Accurate record keeping.

Housekeeping duties keeping the client's living area clean and tidy, changing bedding, laundry and ironing of client's clothing.

Following strict infection prevention and control procedures.

Waking night shifts. Night support workers will be working alone and must be able to stay awake to ensure the client's safety.

Experience or Qualifications:

Essential:

Due to the personal nature of this role, the employer seeks to recruit female only staff.

Basic mandatory training.

Proficient in the use of spoken and written English able to keep clear and concise records.

Car driver with clean licence.

1 Years experience in care and support of people with complex care needs and learning difficulties.

Experience with supporting people with Epilepsy.

-Reliable and compassionate and able to see beyond the client's disability.

-Fit and in good health as the role can be physically demanding.

Desirable:

NVQ level 2,3 or 4 Health & Social Care

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: 12.21-14.50 per hour
