We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Female Support Workers to join our team for a new 2:1, 24/7 support package. This role focuses on providing tailored care for an individual with Complex Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) characterised by severe contamination fears.
About the Role:
As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in helping the individual manage their OCD and associated anxieties. Your responsibilities will include:
Assisting with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and medication management, with a strong emphasis on hygiene and cleanliness.
Providing reassurance and emotional support during moments of anxiety related to contamination fears, helping to reduce distress and promote coping strategies.
Implementing specific strategies to manage compulsive behaviours, ensuring a safe and supportive environment.
Engaging in therapeutic activities that encourage a sense of safety and comfort, tailored to the individual's needs.
Collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary team to create an understanding environment where the individual feels secure and supported.
Key Requirements:
Previous experience in a support or care role, particularly with individuals facing mental health challenges, is preferred.
Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with individuals experiencing anxiety and compulsive behaviours.
A compassionate and patient approach, with a genuine commitment to providing emotional support.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends.
Relevant training or qualifications in health and social care are advantageous but not essential.
