We have an exciting opportunity for an individual to join Sheffield Wednesday Community Programme's (SWFCCP) team as a Female Football Co-ordinator. This post is to lead on SWFCCP participation departments female football participation & development pathways.
The Participation Department has 3 key pillars: Primary School Delivery, Football Development & SEND delivering over 350 hrs of delivery on a normal week.
In this role you will be able to engage and inspire young girls to take part in regular football activities, increasing participation & developing female football development pathways.
You will be responsible for and lead on the recruitment and development of staff members & volunteers delivering across female football pathways within the participation department with the aim to increase the number of female role models and coaching pathways for females.
With the Football Development Officer you will identify talent and aim to tackle inequalities exploring innovative methods to improve access and enable participants from all communities into SWFCCP female football development & participation pathways.
You will be responsible for the administration of female emerging talent breakout squads, organising the training schedule & fixtures alongside the football development officer to improve female football provision at SWFCCP. This will also involve communicating with parents and guardians including group presentations and 1-1 meetings with players and parents/carers surrounding their feedback & development.
You will be leading the way on a new exciting wave for aspiring female footballers & coaches empowering females in our community.
The role requires an extremely organised, proactive individual with excellent communication skills.
You should have at least 3 years experience coaching football in grassroots and/or elite environments.
You should be passionate about the development of young female footballers, having a desire to enhance children's skills and aspirations through education and football, enjoy teaching and delivering innovative schemes of work to engage females in football and deliver large football events and assemblies all with the focus to inspire females into football.
You should be confident to support team members with CPD & training as well as experience of 1-1 leadership to guide and improve the delivery standards across the departments coach workforce.
You will be a senior member of the department, championing high standards, leading by example, representing the SWFC badge with pride to support our community for positive change & impact on a large scale.
The Sheffield Wednesday FC Community Programme branding has a significant reach & the aim of the role is to oversee and ensure high quality, efficient and constantly evolving participation department.
As a result a clear participation department impactful strategy will be delivered across the community programme.
- First point of contact for female football development projects (managing funded projects & football development pathways for females in football)
- Coordinating the organisation and development of weekly female football sessions, female football camps & female emerging talent breakout squads.
- Mentoring of volunteers and casual football coaches in the female football development area
- Quality assurance and operating assessments (ETC Audit level).
- Lead & work with the PLPS lead to support on the planning, organisation & delivery of large events (football events & educational events to engage and empower females in football)
- Monitoring & evaluating the impact of delivery, gathering feedback to navigate, respond and develop to the needs of the communities we serve.
- Strategically plan to increase opportunities and open access for all females and tackle inequalities.
- Work with the marketing lead to ensure all stakeholders, members of the community and wider areas are aware of the participation teams delivery & impact
- Delivery of female specific football coaching and holiday camps.
- Ensure all activities are correctly monitored and evaluated with the appropriate risk assessment and health and safety measures in place with the support of the participation manager.
- Willingness to improve through CPD and courses.
- The wellbeing of young people is paramount at the SWFCCP, you will be expected to understand and implement safeguarding policies and procedures.
- Develop partnerships with grassroots clubs and community groups.

- Coaching within a football environment delivering a football coaching curriculum.

Desirable Qualifications & Skills
- UEFA B Coaching Qualification (desirable)
- Degree in a sport related course (desirable)
- Coaching and or leading in a girls ETC environment (desirable)
Essential qualifications:
- FA Level 2/UEFA C coaching qualification
- level 1 (or higher) qualification in safeguarding young people
- Level 1 first aid
- Driving License
