Centre 404 is a friendly, local and thriving charity with an excellent reputation for providing high quality support and services to people with learning disabilities and their families in North London. If you would like to make a meaningful and lasting difference, join Centre 404 as a Support Worker
We have a number of opportunities for experienced support workers, or people new to the sector, to join an existing team soon to be managed by Centre 404 at two supported living services in the Wembley/Harrow area (Preston Road tube station). Each project supports five adults with moderate to profound and complex learning disabilities, as well as additional mental and physical health needs.
As a Support Worker, you will provide support to service users to ensure their safety, health and wellbeing. Duties will include support with day-to-day aspects such as shopping, meals, personal care, and attending appointments, as well as with leisure, social and physical activities, hobbies and personal interests with an emphasis on helping develop skills, confidence and relationships. You will need to be physically fit and able to push a wheelchair while out in the community with our Service Users.
The ethos behind all our services is to offer support that is empowering, person-centred, promoting choice and integration, as well as reducing isolation. We are always looking for friendly, energetic people to join us in achieving this valuable purpose and to promote and maintain the health and wellbeing of those we support.
Centre 404 is dedicated to staff development and supervision and we will provide a detailed induction and on-going training and support. We are also committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of adults at risk and we are looking to recruit people who share these values. All offers of employment are subject to an enhanced DBS check, proof of eligibility to work in the UK and two satisfactory references.
We are dedicated to providing a meaningful and rewarding work environment, as well as offering a range of perks and benefits for our staff to enjoy.
