36 hours per week Monday to Friday (part time hours will also be considered) - 25,750 per annum (full time equivalent)
Plus on call responsibilities on a rota basis (shift allowance paid).
Your Sanctuary is looking for a female Outreach Worker to join their team of Adult Community based specialists helping to empower survivors of domestic abuse. Using your communication skills and proactive attitude you will provide emotional and practical support, enabling clients to reach informed decisions about their future. Undertaking risk assessments, producing safety plans, and liaising with statutory and other agencies are all part of the role. In addition, you will facilitate group work programmes and take calls on our specialist helpline as well as deliver presentations in order to raise awareness.
You must:
have experience of supporting individuals (not direct personal or medical care) who have been affected by domestic abuse or other trauma, including signposting, advocating and working on a multi-agency basis;
the ability to communicate clearly, calmly and effectively
strong organisational, administrative and IT skills along with a resilient and flexible approach to work
an understanding of trauma informed support
a full UK driving licence and car you can use for work purposes. We ask that applicants live within a maximum 45 minutes driving distance from our offices in Woking. This is so that occasional emergency on call rota responsibilities can be fulfilled in the event of call-out for urgent support requirements.
The post is full time 36 hours per week Monday to Friday but applications for part-time hours will be considered. Please note that this role is not suitable for remote working other than on a very limited basis.
In return, Your Sanctuary offers training opportunities, 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays (pro rata for part time employees), a contributory pension scheme, an Employee Assistance Programme and a dynamic and engaging workplace.
Your Sanctuary is committed to fostering an inclusive, respectful and equitable environment for all individuals associated with our organisation.
People with lived experience of domestic abuse and/or other trauma can be attracted to this type of work through a desire to 'give back' or help others. It is vital that candidates are sufficiently healed from their own experience to be able to safely provide empathetic, resilient, robust, trauma-informed support for survivors at Your Sanctuary. Please carefully consider your suitability when making an application.
To apply please send your CV to Your Sanctuary along with a covering letter explaining how your skills and knowledge enable you to meet the requirements for the post. A full job description/person specification is available on the Your Sanctuary website.
