Full Time, 35 Hours per Week Plus Sleeps

Shift Pattern:

The shifts are 24 hour shifts, 09:00-09:00 including sleeps, Monday to Sunday.

We are seeking a Rehabilitation Support Worker to provide an exceptional service for our client in Moss Side. About The Role

We are looking for a kind, proactive, and patient female Rehabilitation Support Worker to join the team supporting a 70-year-old woman with a traumatic brain injury (TBI). This is a fulfilling role where you'll be making a real difference in her daily life, helping her maintain independence and enjoy the things she loves.

The client lives in her own home with 24/7 support in place and is generally very independent, but she benefits from gentle prompting and guidance with day-to-day tasks. She can communicate verbally, is mobile, and has no significant behavioural challenges.

She's sociable and enjoys community outings like shopping trips, visits to Wetherspoons, charity shop browsing, and going for walks. At the moment, staff use their own vehicles for community access (business insurance is essential), but she's in the process of purchasing a car for staff to use.

At home, she enjoys chatting, watching soaps, reading, and listening to Billy Fury. She's proud of her space and likes things the way she likes them, so an approach that respects her independence and preferences is key. She also receives ongoing support from a psychologist, who will help guide the team to provide the most effective and person-centred care.

The role involves 24-hour shifts (9am-9am) including a sleep. Shifts are available throughout the week, with most support needed for 2-3 shifts, mainly evenings and weekends.

A typical day might begin with prompting her morning routine - breakfast, medication, and a shower - before heading out for a community activity or relaxing at home. Evenings are usually calm and cosy, with TV, reading, and winding down before bed.

Your main attributes will be friendly, approachable and have empathy towards your client treating them with respect and dignity at all times. We support vulnerable people to live as independently as possible, by building their confidence and skills to realise their potential.

About You

Experience of working in a support role, both in the community and the home. Friendly, approachable and confident in the role. Experience and ability to understand and deal with complex and challenging behaviour. Flexible in approach to meet the needs of the client. NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or equivalent recognised health profession qualification. A full driving licence and access to your own car is required, as you will be using it to support the client in the community. Experience working with acquired brain injury Previously worked with therapists to deliver a support plan. Registered on DBS update service.
