We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated female Support Worker to provide high-quality care to an individuals in her own home.
The ideal candidate will have experience in patient care, particularly with seniors and individuals with conditions such as Alzheimer's and dementia. This role requires a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for those in our care through compassionate support and assistance.
Responsibilities
Provide personal care and support to residents including assistance with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
Assist with meal preparation and ensure proper nutrition for clients.
Administer medication as prescribed and monitor health conditions.
Engage clients in meaningful activities to promote social interaction and mental stimulation.
Implement behaviour management strategies as needed to support clients with challenging behaviours.
Perform light housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe environment.
Assist with mobility and heavy lifting when required, ensuring safety at all times.
Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any changes in client condition to the appropriate personnel.
Drive clients to appointments or social activities as necessary.
Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the well-being of clients.
Qualifications
Previous experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or similar environments is highly desirable.
Knowledge of senior care practices, including Alzheimer's care, dementia care, hospice care, and home care is essential.
Certification in first aid is preferred; additional caregiving qualifications are an advantage.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
A valid driving licence is preferred for transportation duties.
Ability to perform heavy lifting when assisting clients with mobility needs.
