Job Description


Key focus: As a Fibre Supervisor, you will work closely with our field engineers, as well as our office, to ensure all assigned works are completed in a timely and accurate manner. You will ensure the sites supervised are compliant with any site regulations and policies.
Responsibilities:

  • Be the first point of contact for the field engineers and solve problems for them where possible, otherwise report to higher management.
  • Overseeing fibre activities within allocated build areas.
  • Ensure all onsite activities are managed to the highest standards.
  • Day to day management of the teams on-site to ensure HSEQ and production levels are always maintained.
  • Ensuring correct SLG set ups within the field teams.
  • Manage client/contractor expectations including site walk off/audits with the client.
  • Correct interpretation of utility drawing.
  • Ability to spot network defects and rectify onsite.
  • Provide network solutions to problematic issues.
  • Undertake daily site visits and carry out checks on risk assessments.
  • Perform site checks and ensure onsite safety compliance and report on any problems.
  • Assist fibre teams in solving onsite problems and issue them with additional site equipment when required to ensure uninterrupted works.
  • Complete daily quality checks on previous day\xe2\x80\x99s work.
  • Confirm gang whereabouts every morning via the tracking portal.
  • Deliver toolbox talks as and when required.
  • Remedy any onsite build issues where possible.
  • Deliver onsite training when required.
  • Ensure fibre teams follow safety procedures.
  • Perform the following audits and record them accurately and in a timely manner on the Future Networx internal system:
  • Works quality
  • Vehicles
  • Tooling
  • SLG
  • PPE
  • Site Set Ups
  • And any other duties that may reasonably be required of you.

Requirements:
  • Experience in the field within the Telecoms sector
  • FTTP build - Fibre cable installation / splicing / testing experience.
  • Previous role Supervising engineering staff.
  • Valid Accreditation, Signing, Lighting and Guarding
  • Knowledge of or experience working on Openreach network
  • Desirable - Openreach PIA Duct & PIA Pole Survey Valid Accreditations. SA001, SA002, A8, S5 S11, N23, N27, N28
  • Desirable - NRSWA Units 1-6
  • SSSTS or SMSTS (desirable)
  • Self-motivated, able to motivate others effectively and work as part of a team
  • Excellent time-management skills
  • Great communication skills at all levels
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft packages
  • Commercial and contractual awareness
  • Underground and Overhead experience
  • Advantageous - Knowledge and experience of trenching, ducting, cabling, poling, splicing, and testing.
  • Full UK Driving Licence
