About the Role



Field Manager Operative - Working across North and South London



Reporting to the Operations Manager for the South Region, you will lead a team of multi-skilled Site Investigation Engineers delivering both reactive and planned operations in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Success in this role requires a proactive, purposeful, and personable approach to performance management and team leadership.

As a Field Operations Manager, you will be part of a dedicated leadership team responsible for health & safety, operational performance, people management, fleet and resource utilisation, and budget adherence for equipment and consumables.

Key Responsibilities



Lead, motivate, and manage a team of Site Investigation Engineers to deliver exceptional service Carry out regular site inspections to ensure quality, safety, and compliance Coordinate and allocate field engineers efficiently to maximise productivity and response times Manage fleet operations including vehicle utilisation, maintenance, and reporting Monitor and evaluate employee performance through one-to-ones, appraisals, and coaching Work closely with office planner to ensure seamless communication and scheduling Support the client on high-profile or complex jobs, acting as a field liaison Manage disciplinary processes, interviews, and development pathways Promote the wellbeing and safety of field staff, ensuring a positive working environment Ensure compliance with all Cappagh Group policies, especially health and safety regulations

About You



Proven leadership and management experience within utilities, drainage, or related sectors Strong knowledge of operational delivery, health and safety standards, and people management Ability to prioritise, multi-task, and build effective working relationships at all levels Excellent communication skills and a hands-on approach to problem solving Full UK driving licence essential Previous experience in site investigations, wastewater, or drainage is advantageous A positive and constructive mindset with a commitment to company values and teamwork
