Job Summary:
This customer facing role involves attending pre-arranged appointments with homeowners and residents to promote and sell energy efficiency solutions, including solar panels, energy storage batteries, heat pumps and various insulation upgrades. Roles and Responsibilities
Customer Engagement and Consultation
Attend pre-booked appointments with homeowners
Act as the face of the company during in-home visits
Build rapport with homeowners to understand their needs, concerns, and motivations
Conduct clear, honest consultations regarding energy efficiency and renewable energy solutions (e.g. solar PV, battery storage, insulation, heat pumps)
Educate customers on the benefits of our renewable energy products
Manage your schedule with flexibility including occasional evening and weekend appointments
Product Knowledge and Technical Understanding
Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of energy efficiency and renewable energy solutions and how they benefit the customer (e.g. cost savings, carbon reduction)
Explain technical aspects in a way that is easy for homeowners to understand
Stay up to date with industry standards, government schemes (e.g. ECO4, Boiler Upgrade Scheme), and finance options
Sales Conversion and Target Achievement
Present proposals and quotations tailored to the homeowner's property and energy needs
Effectively handle objections and guide customers toward a buying decision
Achieve individual sales targets and contribute to team goals
Site Assessment and Data Collection
Where appropriate, conduct basic property assessments (e.g. roof space, orientation, insulation levels)
Take accurate notes, photos, and measurements required for system design or qualification (e.g. for ECO funding)
Ensure all necessary documentation is completed and submitted accurately
Compliance and Ethics
Ensure all sales are compliant with consumer protection laws and internal procedures
Work in line with industry codes of conduct (e.g. MCS, TrustMark)
Handle personal data in line with our GDPR policies and procedures
Reporting and CRM Usage
Update CRM systems with appointment outcomes, customer details, and follow-ups
Liaise with the back-office team to progress qualified leads through the customer journey
Continuous Learning and Improvement
Attend training and team meetings to stay informed about new products, offers, or regulatory changes
Share feedback from the field to help refine sales strategy and marketing approaches
Essential Skills and Requirements:
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Persuasive but ethical sales approach
Confidence presenting in customers' homes
Comfortable using tablets or mobile devices for on-site quoting
Minimum of 1 years' experience in a sales-related role
Full UK driving licence
Own transport is required due to the nature of the role
