Entryphone is a well-established, family-run business based in Wandsworth with over 65 years' experience in the manufacture, installation and maintenance of door entry systems. With a team of 25 staff, we are known for reliability, quality workmanship and excellent customer service.

The Role

We are looking for a reliable, practical

Maintenance Technician

to join our field team. You will service, repair and install door entry systems across Greater London, primarily South London.

You'll be trusted to work independently, manage your own daily schedule and represent the company professionally at customer sites.

Key Duties

Maintain door entry systems across customer sites Service and fault-find existing systems Carry out repairs and minor rewiring Build strong working relationships with site staff and residents Manage your daily workload in coordination with the office team Complete electronic job reports accurately Work safely and responsibly at all times

What We're Looking For

Reliable, punctual and well organised Comfortable starting work on site at

8:00am daily

Practical "can-do" attitude with good problem-solving skills Previous field service / maintenance experience preferred (full training provided) Good customer communication skills

Full UK driving licence required

Confident and comfortable driving in London

FAQ's

Q -What kind of training is given

. A - Basically it is on-the-job training. You will initially go out with all the other technicians for a day or two each. You will therefore get to know the whole team and you can watch and learn. You will then be allocated an individual technician and you will join him/her every day. After a while you will be asked to go 'solo' whilst your trainer stays in the van but they will be on hand to assist if you get into difficulty. Then when you are ready you will be given a van, tools, spares etc and you will go out on your own but with backup of other technicians.

Q - After training, what support do I get?

A - Plenty. Other members of the team, with considerable experience, are always happy to take a call to offer advice, reassurance and assistance when needed.

Q - how long does training take?

A - This very much depends on the individual but usually you will be 'useful' after about a month.

Q - what is my working area?

A - South London, within the M25 but excluding Central London.

Q - Is there any overtime?

A - No there isn't. The working day is 8.00am to 4.00pm. Occasionally you may have to work slightly after 4pm if you need to finish a particular job but that is unusual.

Q - Why is this job available?

A - Staff retention at Entryphone is very high with the average stay at about 20 years. However people to move on and the previous technician has been with us for almost 5 years.

Q - Is there much chance of promotion within the company?

A - With an average stay of 20 years or so, and given we are a small company, the chances of promotion within the company is limited.

Hours, Pay & Benefits

Pay:

30,000- 34,000 per year (depending on experience)

Hours:

Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:00pm

21 days + bank holidays

Requirements

Full UK Driving Licence Right to Work in the UK Able to reliably reach first job by 8:00am In-person field-based work across Greater London General electrical, basic AC theory and knowledge of basic electronic components is desirable.
