Job Overview


The Finance Administrator will play a crucial role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the finance department. This position involves a variety of administrative and clerical tasks related to financial record-keeping, processing transactions, and ensuring accuracy and compliance. The ideal candidate will be highly organised, detail-oriented, and possess a strong understanding of basic accounting principles.

The role will initially relate to our operations in Yateley but could evolve to the wider Group. As this role could be based in Basildon or Yateley it could require some ad hoc travel between offices.

Duties



Data Entry & Record Keeping:

Accurately enter financial data into accounting software (e.g., invoices, receipts, payments).

Accounts Payable Support:



Process supplier invoices, ensuring proper coding and approvals. Assist with preparing payment runs and reconciling supplier statements. Handle supplier queries professionally.

Accounts Receivable Support:



Assist with raising sales invoices and credit notes. Support the collection of outstanding debts by sending reminders or making calls. Process incoming customer payments.

Bank Reconciliation:



Assist with daily and monthly bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy of transactions.

Expense Management:



Process employee expense claims in line with company policy.

General Administrative Support:



Prepare basic financial reports and summaries as required. Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures. Respond to internal and external financial queries promptly and professionally. Maintain confidentiality of all financial information. Perform other ad-hoc administrative duties to support the finance team. Maintain organised and accessible financial records, both physical and digital. Assist with filing, scanning, and archiving financial documents.

Skills:



Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel (intermediate level required). Familiarity with accounting software, preferably Sage. Experience with Autotask or similar ERP system preferable. Excellent data entry skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. High level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential financial information.
